2500km Round Trip

A few months ago I had an opportunity to go on a solo road trip to the Big Smoke. I got to mix with industry folk for a number of days, before heading out to Mulgoa and further West to reconnect with family and friends. Here's a selection of images from that 2500km round trip.

Quiet Street in Mulgoa

Mount Schoenstatt - Mulgoa

The Schoenstatt Shrine is a place of grace & pilgrimage nestled in the hills overlooking the little township of Mulgoa. Schoenstatt means 'beautiful place' and it is here that people from all walks of life, find moments of peace and tranquility on their journey through life.

Inside the tiny shrine

Warragamba Dam

Located about 65 kilometres west of Sydney in a narrow gorge on the Warragamba River, Warragamba Dam is one of the largest domestic water supply dams in the world.

Water is collected from the catchments of the Wollondilly and Coxs River systems covering an area of 9,050 square kilometres to form Lake Burragorang and Warragamba Dam.

Lake Burragorang is the largest urban water supply in Australia, containing four times the volume of water of Sydney Harbour. It accounts for about 80 per cent of the water supply for nearly four million people in the Sydney region.

The 3 Sisters - Katoomba

Govett's Leap - Blackheath

Hartley Historic Village

The village was one of the first settlements west of the Blue Mountains and reflects the simple needs and the way of life of the mid 1800's. There are three old inns, two churches and private homes still remaining. The Court House was the scene of hundreds of trials of convicts in the early days and is now open as a museum, brought to life with tape recordings based on actual trials.

Australia Day - Sorrento Beach - Western Australia

The following selection of images were shot on a beautiful day along the WA coastline, at Sorrento Beach. The atmosphere and conditions couldn't have been better to celebrate Australia Day. Everywhere you looked people were so happy, celebrating everything thats Australia.

Sorrento Beach also hosted the states, Havaianas Thong Challenge, which was to form the "Longest line of airbeds in water" with proceeds going to the Starlight Foundation and Nippers.
The world record was broken in Bondi with a massive 908 thongs in the water. Sorrento came in with 683 thongs.

It was a great day, and I was quite surprised to see sooo many west australians, getting out and enjoying this beautiful day.
